The Speedtrain API has been working normally since 18:31 CEST. The slowdown between 18:08 and 18:26 CEST was caused by an unusually large batch of document deletions that overloaded the database. There was no data loss or unauthorised access. We’re sorry for the disruption.

On 20 October, between 18:08 and 18:26 CEST, the Speedtrain API was severely slowed for about 18 minutes. An unusually large batch of document deletions overloaded the database behind the API. Most requests still completed, but slowly, and a small number failed for a few seconds around 18:10 CEST. The service recovered without intervention, and there was no data loss or unauthorised access.

We’re improving how the API handles large deletion batches and database load to prevent this from happening again.
